Nikcy Mason was a well loved person who enjoyed life.
He had many friends and was loved by all.
He grew up in Aveley, where he found special friendships in people such as Leah,Chris and many more.
Nicky was a para in the 2nd Battalion and died on patrol near Kajaki, in the lawless Helmand province on Saturday.
Lt Col David Reynolds said "His participation will be remembered inregimental history as a tribute to his courage"
Nicky was a fun person to be around and will be sadly missed by all.
Nicky was a hero and a breath of fresh air to everybody he met.

I miss you so much and life isn't the same without you anymore.. I wish I could come and join you, I wish that everyday. Your a brother that everyone would of wished to of have and I'm lucky I had you ad your love.. I hate living life without you. Life is so sad and so miserable and horrible.. Life is so dull and upsetting. It's not the same without you and it never will be. I forgot to tell you Nicky. I has my little girl on February 22nd, she was born 3 months early. But is doing well. She is coming home this week. Thank you for taking care of her. Also we have named her Emma-Leigh Nicky Johnson. I promise your memory will always live on. I can't wait to tell her what an amazing person she was named after xXx
I am sorry I wasn't there for you yesterday Nicky, I hear it was a good turn out. I will be up soon Baby Blue Eyes, I am moving to Colchester in July and you are my first stop. Love and Miss you.
